The history of paintball is a hot topic. Depending on your source you will find various people who tell the story differently. We do officially know that the first paintball guns were invented in the 1960’s by Nelson Paint Company. They were initially invented for forestry workers to be able to mark trees in areas with rough terrain. Throughout the late 1960’s and 1970’s the paintball gun and its uses spread to marking animals, and other trees all over the world. The first actual paintball game was held in New Hampshire in 1981. The rest is paintball history! Here is one of the articles that we used for our research if you want to learn more about the actual evolution of paintball.
