The Louisiana Royals playing at Cousins Paintball in Texas

Paintball Teams can be found all over the world. Similar to football, soccer, and baseball – paintball teams represent a competitive side to people who share interest and love for the sport itself.

Check out the Louisiana Royals who utilize our Texas fields for practice and play. They are featured in the image above. This is just one of the over 40+ teams that frequent Cousins fields and special events year-round.

There are local teams for youth and adults, as well as semi-professional and professional teams that compete worldwide. Teams also compete in various types of game formats: Scenario, Speedball, and Woodsball.

When playing scenario paintball games, you are completely immersed into a story line. Games typically have anywhere from 75 to 5000 players, and usually involve at least 6 hours of continuous play. Typically there will be two sides fighting towards a pre-defined objective. They are tons of fun, and there are several options if you like military play and objectives, or Dark-Ops simulations. We also have more whimsical and just for fun scenarios throughout the year like the Yeti Event.

Whereas, Speedball is a different type of team play all together. Speedball is played on a field composed of bunkers, strategically placed to give each competing team an equal playing field. Since the 1990’s speedball has grown and evolved in so many ways. Each league has different time limits, and sets of rules for play. In this way of play there is very little room for stealthy maneuvers. Players must rely on teamwork, constant communication, and aggressive movement.

Last, but certainly not least, is Woodsball (also known as woods paintball). In this format, team play is carried out by using the natural terrain, including wooded areas. Teams can play with as little as 3 players vs. 3 players, or in games that boast as many as 100 players. This type of play is also reliant on teamwork, but utilizes more strategy and team communication.

To learn more about the different ways to play, you can also read our other articles about each type that explains everything in much greater detail.

Cousins Paintball hosts various events throughout the year that appeal to each variation of team play. We have a vast library of knowledge about existing teams, how to join, and the multiple ways of team game play.
